Alvin Guo

Alvin Guo is a rising ninth grader going to Winston Churchill High School in Potomac, Maryland. He started his musical journey in third grade with piano.  Soon he expanded his passion for music to violin, viola and music composition.  Over the years, he has participated in many statewide and nationwide competitions.  He has won many piano competitions including the Grand Prix award in Rising Talents Festival, which landed him an opportunity to perform at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in 2017.  He was a piano accompanist in Central County Honor Chorus performance.  In addition to his piano achievement, Alvin has played as a violist in multiple chamber music groups and orchestras, including Montgomery County Orchestra and Maryland All-State Orchestra. To further enrich his musical experience and skills, Alvin has attended various music camps over the years to study music through folk dancing, fiddling, singing, improvisation, music games and music jamming.  Alvin loves to share his musical passion with younger musicians.
