Andy Wang, Director of Content, attends at Winston Churchill High School. He started playing piano in elementary school and then started learning saxophone in 6th grade. It has been an influential part of his life ever since. He was accepted into the Montgomery County All-County Honors Band for the past 3 years, and the Maryland All-State Honors Band for the past 2 years. He was also the principal alto saxophone for the Potomac Valley Youth Orchestra Wind Symphony for the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 seasons. During the summer of 2019, he was accepted to and participated in the Interlochen Summer Saxophone Institute. On piano, he has performed at Carnegie Hall for the AAFAA Young Artists Competition Winners’ Recital for the past 5 years from 2016-2020. He took AP Music Theory in 9th grade and received a 5 in both the aural and non-aural subscores for the AP Music Theory exam. In addition, he has received high scores on all levels of the MSMTA music theory exams. Andy believes that with a strong passion for learning, people can do anything they set their minds to, and he hopes to cultivate this passion for learning in others.
