Past Event: Intermediate Music Theory 2021

Our intermediate music theory class is suggested for students who have been playing music for more than 3 years, can confidently read music in at least one clef, and are able to identify most key signatures and scales. Students who take this class will begin to learn Chord Theory.

Technology Requirements: Students must have access to a computer or tablet that can join a zoom class and has a microphone. A video camera is preferred!

Scheduled Topics:

Monday: Emphasis on Bass and Treble Reading, General Review of W and H steps, Scales, and Key Signatures

Tuesday: Intervals and Triad Building, Voice Motion Types

Wednesday: Triads in the Scale

Thursday: Chord Function(TPDT) and Cadences

Friday: Roman Numeral Analysis, Inversions, and Chord Extensions
